Neil R. Dinndorf, CFP® Wealth Advisor
What do you enjoy most about becoming the Family CFO?
The world of financial advice is a noisy space with many conflicting messages. I enjoy working with individuals & families to help make sense of the noise and help them identiy what they really want their life (financially & otherwise) to look like. Partnering with a client to help carry out their highest goals & values is remarkable and truly gratifying. I can't imagine doing anything else.
What do you love most about being a part of EnRich?
I really appreciate the team environment and collaborative approach that goes into each client relationship. Each member of our team plays a different role in servicing our clients, with each team member focused on the same goal: provide our clients with first class service to help them reach their financial dreams and goals.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
I was named to the 2018 40 under 40 class by InBusiness magazine. As a long-time resident of Madison, it was rewarding to be recognized as a community leader among many deserving candidates. Recognition for the work we do here at EnRich, professional involvement in the Madison Estate Council & the UW-Madison Personal Finance program along with community involvement in the Rotary Club of Madison has been very fulfilling.
What qualities of yours make you best suited to what you do?
I've been told by many clients that I am very respectful, relatable, and comfortable to work with. Many people, and clients we work with, are intimidated by finances because they do not fully understand all of it. I make sure clients understand the recommendations I provide so they can make an informed decision of the best course to take in improving their financial life.
How should people think about their wealth?
Everyone has their own "money history" and ways they view money. My job is to inform people how to use their money and manage their wealth, not how to spend, or not spend, their money. P.T. Barnum, the charcter for which The Greatest Showman is based on, is credited with saying: "money is a terrible master but an excellent servant." Let your money serve you, not control you. I help clients make the best use of their money.
What do you love to do outside of work?
My primary passion is my family. I have two beautiful young children who I love to watch learn & grow. I get to explain every little thing in the world to them! My rock is my wife, Lisa, and she is the gel that keeps it all together for us.
Aside from raising a family, I am an avid runner having completed many half marathons and will soon complete my first full marathon, the Madison Marathon. I can also be found on the golf course or our pool in the summer, or supporting Wisconsin Badger athletics in the fall & winter. We enjoy hosting friends & family for good food and fun at our home throughout the year.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working with EnRich?
I enjoy entertaining people and making them feel happy & welcome. Lisa is a cullinary teacher at Madison Memorial High School and I think we would own & operate a teaching kitchen and/or restaurant. Something unique, warm, and inviting. If not that, a bed & breakfast in the country or a travelling food cart.
